Tires

A tire is the only part of a vehicle that is in contact with the road surface, so it is one of the most significant parts of your car. When braking, starting or changing course, a significant burden falls on the tires, so correctly selected high quality tires are the most important prerequisite for your comfortable and safe journey.

When selecting tires, it is necessary to take into account climatic conditions, road surface, distance of driving, etc. The tires should be selected exactly on an as-needed basis for your car. It is also important to take into account the size, carrying capacity, speed index, and other specifications recommended by the manufacturer of motor vehicle.

All tires have a life cycle (5 years). If the term expires, the tire loses its positive properties, as a result of which a safe riding is in danger.

Tires are classified according to seasons and purposes.

Seasonal tires:

  •  Summer Tire
  • Winter Tire
  • All Season Tire

Tires’ Seasonality

The correct selection of tires, compliance with their operating conditions and seasonal replacement is of great importance both for the car and your safety and the safety of those around you.

 Summer Tire

Summer tires are designed for dry and wet surfaces at high temperature. For improved grip and safe driving. The unique shape of their tread pattern and a special composition provide the best response in the turns and improved braking. Summer tires are ideal for driving on wet, rainy surfaces. The surface of their tread pattern is formed in such a way that pushes drops of water and rain out and excludes hydroplaning.

Another characteristic feature of summer tires is the groove depth. Unlike winter tires, the tread blocks of summer tires are smaller, which contributes to stability at high temperature and steadiness when driving.

Note: summer tires have no specific marks.

Winter Tire

At low temperature, summer tires are not able to heat up to a sufficient condition for gripping, thereby they lose their properties, after which the tire becomes stiff, and thereafter the risk of slipping increases. High-quality winter tires are made of specially treated material, as a result of which this kind of risk becomes minimal. Together with the high content of specially treated natural rubber, winter tires have a special tread that is distinguished by tailor-made highlighted blocks and zigzag sectional drawing (tread blocks) on the entire surface. For that very reason the winter tires provide effective grip under difficult climatic conditions such as snow, ice and slush. When choosing this type of tire, you must also consider the rules of use and purpose. The right choice provides not only safe driving, but also reduced fuel consumption.

It must be borne in mind that the period of efficient service of winter tires does not exceed 5 years. After this period of time, the tire loses its positive properties. In addition, when driving at high temperature and hot road surface, the braking distance of winter tires increases by 15-20%, wear - by 30-40%. That is why seasonal tire replacement is necessary. The recommended temperature for replacing winter tires is 70C. Exactly at temperature below 7°C summer tires should be replaced with winter ones, and at temperature above 7 ° C, on the contrary, winter tires should be replaced with summer ones.

All-Season Tire

All-season tire is the most cost-effective type of tire. These tires are intended for use throughout the year. Such tires are a technological compound both in chemical composition and tread configuration. Its tread fibers are of medium depth and rubber composition is also specially selected so that the tire is the most durable.

In most cases, manufacturers of motor vehicles recommend the all-season tires for urban traffic, but this strength is achieved at the expense of other positive characteristics. For example, compared to summer tires, their gripping ability is reduced and the braking distance is increased. And also in difficult climatic conditions of winter, the all-season tires are not able to provide such a safety standard as winter tires.
